3 Reasons Why it’s Healthy to Celebrate Your Birthday

For various reasons, some people don’t celebrate birthdays. But none of those reasons are good enough to stop me from celebrating my birthday today! In fact, I think birthdays are actually healthy for you.

Here are three reasons why it’s healthy to celebrate your birthday:

  1. You deserve it. Just like Mom told you, you’re special. Everyday you’re alive you contribute something unique to the people you come into contact within your sphere of influence. Birthdays are about recognizing your self-worth and loving yourself. It’s your day to celebrate you! If we can set aside a day to celebrate the birth of our Nation, why not celebrate the day you were brought into this world?
  2. Provides variety. Socrates believed that moderation is an ethical virtue. While others have agreed, they’ve also suggested, “Everything in moderation, including moderation”. Wise advice. Take for example muscle building. To grow stronger, you must stress the muscle and actually rip it in order for it to heal with extra muscle tissue. So while balance is integral for health, perhaps to get healthier we need to go all nuts every once in awhile! Your birthday is the perfect day to do in excess the things you love to do.
  3. Facilitates gratitude. Holidays are an ancient tradition and created for good reason – it’s time set aside to be thankful for the existence of something that adds value to our lives. By carving out a day for your existence, you pay your respects to the Powers That Be that created you. It’s about gratitude for life! And if you believe in the Law of Attraction, the more you are grateful for, the more of it the Universe will give you.

What do you think, Readers? In what other ways can you justify birthday celebrations?
